These

Called in another parcell of Indians that were met with in
the Woods back in Ann Arundell County by some of the
Inhabitants of the said County—proceed to their Examination
Vizt
Solomon Sparrow of Ann Arundell County declareth that
going out a hunting back in the woods, these Indians came
athwart their Track, sent after them and warned them not to
go a hunting for they said the naked Indians were abroad and
woud kill them if they met with them
Quest Were they sent by those Indians to enquire after
the French man Prisoner as report goes, or are they of the
naked Indians

Ind Ansr No, nor are they Senniquos, there are they say
seven Forts of them, one Fort of naked Indians, and some
French joyned with them, those Indians they met with did
give them an Accot of such a man as the Frenchman was, and
advised them if they met with him to bind him, and if the
English met with him to take him and hang him
Qu Whither or no was the other Frenchman they had
with them bound
Ansr No he was free and at Liberty was married and
had been among them for Yeares
Captain Richardson declares that the French Prisoner at his
first examination by Mr Vansweeringen did affirm that those
Indians from whom he came did brag that they had killed
some Women and taken some Children
The Indians say that not long since (vizt) two or three days
ago, they met with about 16 of the naked Indians going after
the new York Indians, who had hurt the English Woman, and
the Negro Woman, with whom they discoursed the matter,
and asked them why they did so much mischief to the English
who did them no hurt at all, they replied they were hired by
the French so to do, their King being at warrs at home with
the English but they likewise said they woud do the English
no further mischief but wou'd come and make peace with
them and bring a Present woud now returne back and go no
further which accordingly they forthwith did
Qu When do they intend to come and make the peace
Ansr About a month hence either four or six of them will
come to Zachaja or Mattapony corn Fields
