Interp how came he to find them out
Ansr he Guessed the way and was guided by the course
of the river, and when he came to them they made him very
wellcome, having also amongst them 5 other Indians calld
Wolf Indians which had formerly come to those 30 Indians
that left the Fort abovesaid and invited them to come and
live among them
Interp he had said that he was a Prisoner how came he so
to be, and how came he to report before that he was weary
of the warrs and was come hither to enquire for the Governor,
and see for a reception, and leave to set down in quiet that
they had with them 120 Captive Women and Children, some
whereof he design'd to Present to the Governor, how doth it
agree that they had among them so many Prisoners and yet
he himself was a Prisoner
Ansr he met with those Indians but a little while since and
further they did Suspect he would make his escape and there-
fore made him Prisoner
Interp Were those Women and Children in their Company
Prisoners Ans. No Intr Why did he formerly say they were
Ans: He denys it And saith that he had been misunderstood
Interp: he did tell the Governor that they had 120 Women
and Children Captive slaves, were weary of the warrs and
intended if they might be permitted to come here and set
down with them in quiet
Ansr They had no Slaves with them
Interp: he did also tell Mr Bougee in discourse that he had
Six Slaves to Present to the Governor
