AN ACT concerning
Corrective Bill — Lottery
FOR the purpose of correcting technical errors in the
laws relating to the State Lottery; and clarifying
language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 88D - State Lottery
Section 24(d)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
Preamble
WHEREAS, Chapter 19, Acts of 1976, made a correction
in the first sentence in subsection (d) of § 24 in
Article 88D but in so doing substituted "for a least a
period" for "for at least a period"; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 24(d) of Article 88D - State
Lottery, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 88D - State Lottery
24.
(d) Interest earned from the proceeds of sale of
bonds shall be awarded by random selection to those
persons who have held bonds for [a] AT least a period of
three months, in amount in any one year not less than the
sum of [two] 2 percent [(2%)] of the total value of all
bonds outstanding. These interest awards shall be made
on a periodic basis as determined by the rules adopted by
the Commission. The number and value of interest awards
paid and the manner of awarding payment of prices shall
be as determined by the rules adopted by the Commission.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
