AN ACT concerning
Corrective Bill - United States
FOR the purpose of correcting technical errors in the
laws relating to participation in Federal Housing
Assistance Programs.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 96 - United States
Section 51 (b)

Preamble
WHEREAS, In subsection (b) in Section 51, added in
Article 96 by Chapter 761, Acts of 1976, the word
"corporation" should be "cooperation"; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 51(b) of Article 96 - United
States, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 96 - United States
51 .
(b) The powers conferred by this section are in
addition to all other powers of counties and
municipalities and may be exercised directly by the
county or municipality or as otherwise provided by its
governing body, whether or not the county or municipality
has established a housing authority under the Housing
Authorities Law. This section does not affect any powers
conferred on housing authorities or on counties or
municipalities by Housing Authorities Law or the housing
[corporation] COOPERATION law.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
