Former deputy director of human resources, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Member, International Public Management Association for Human Resources (formerly International Personnel Management Association), 1975- (honorary life member; past president, eastern region; past member, executive committee). Board of Directors, Prince George's Community College Foundation, 2006-. Member, American Legion, Master Mason, Prince Hall affiliate. Charter member and past secretary, Kiwanis Club of Mitchellville, Inc. Warren W. Stockberger Achievement Award, International Public Management Association for Human Resources, 2000. Chair, Board of Trustees, Vermont Avenue Baptist Church, Washington, DC. Married; two children, two grandchildren.
