Delegate, Republican Party National Conventions, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996. Man of the Year, Young Republicans of Anne Arundel County, 1977. Legislator of the Year, American Family Association, 1989. Presidential Citation, Maryland Recreation and Parks Association, 1989. Married; three children.
