Born in Brunswick, Maryland, November 15, 1928. Attended Frederick County public schools; Frederick High School, Frederick, Maryland. Served in U.S. Army, 1952-1953 (8th Army, Korea). University of Maryland, A.B., 1956; University of Maryland School of Law, LL.B., 1959. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1959. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (board of governors, 1982-83); Frederick County Bar Association (president, 1973; vice-president, 1972). Board of Trustees, Maryland Institute for the Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers (MICPEL), 1984-85. Fellow, Maryland Bar Foundation. Board of Directors, Children's Aid Society. Life member, Korean War Veterans Association; American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars. Member, Frederick Rotary Club; Frederick Chorale. Member, Calvary United Methodist Church (chair, administrative board; board of trustees). Married; two children, three grandchildren. Died January 20, 2009.
