Born in Baltimore, Maryland, 1927. Attended Baltimore parochial schools; Loyola College; Towson State College; University of Baltimore; University of Baltimore School of Law, J.D., 1951. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1954. Served in U.S. Coast Guard. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (chair, ethics committee, 1967-68; past member, board of governors; public awareness committee); Baltimore County Bar Association. Delegate, Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, 1968. Instructor (political science), University of Baltimore, 1980. Instructor (state & local government), University of Maryland School of Law, 1982-87. Member, American Judicature Society. Executive Committee, Maryland Blue Cross. Board member, Mental Health Association of Maryland; Maryland Association for Retarded Children. Member, American Legion. Past post commander and state judge advocate, Catholic War Veterans; Kiwanis International. Received numerous distinguished service awards and citations. Parkville Veterans Day Committee Award, 1967. Certificate of Appreciation, Kiwanis International, 1969. Appreciation Award, Fraternal Order of Police. Outstanding Service Award, U.S. Jaycees and Greater Towson Jaycees, 1971. Annual Outstanding Service Award, Maryland Special Olympics, 1971-74. Special Appreciation Award, Apprentice Training Program, Associated Builders and Contractors, 1973. Commendation, Maryland Association for Retarded Children, 1974. Commendation, March-of-Dimes Walkathon, 1973, 1974. Outstanding Legislator of the Year, Montgomery County Cerebral Palsy Association, 1974. Married; six children, ten grandchildren. Died at Loch Lin, Baltimore County, Maryland, June 6, 2011. Buried at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, Maryland.
