Report to Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee & House Judiciary Committee due Dec. 31, 2023 (Chapter 141, Acts of 2022).

In July 2022, the Task Force to Study Transparency Standards for State's Attorneys was authorized by the General Assembly (Chapter 141, Acts of 2022).

The Task Force was to study the possibility of establishing minimum transparency standards for State’s Attorneys, and expanding the data collection and disclosure requirements set by law in 2022 to include cases of the District Court (Chapter 141, Acts of 2022). The Task Force examined any existing policies of State’s Attorneys’ offices across the State that related to transparency of data, charging of crimes, and sentencing. Further, the Task Force was to develop processes by which prosecutors can collect information and determine what should be made public and what should remain private. To expand data collection and reporting, the Task Force was to make recommendations on potential changes in law.

Authorization for the Task Force ended June 30, 2024.
