In July 2014, the Task Force to Study Lottery Revenue was established (Chapter 293, Acts of 2014).
The Task Force was to consider what is causing lottery revenue to decline, and what innovations might increase those revenues and improve player experience. Potential changes might include: multi-state raffles; more tie-ins to the State's professional sports teams; shifting to digital and multi-platform use; using on-line platforms for lottery sales; and earmarking certain games for specific causes or purposes. Also, the Task Force was to study programs for lottery agent commissions and bonus incentives. Finally, the Task Force was to examine issues of e-commerce, banking, privacy, and security when lottery sales use multiple channels and platforms.
In January 2015, the due date for its reports was extended to July 1, 2015.
Authorization for the Task Force ended June 30, 2015.
The Task Force never met.
