The Interagency Work Group on Incident Reporting in Residential Child Care Facilities formed in October 2010 (Chapter 567, Acts of 2010). The Work Group developed a uniform incident reporting form for agencies that license or purchase care and services for children in State-licensed residential facilities. Incidents that require reporting include accident, injury, death, theft, violation of rights, medical events, behavioral problems, and mental health and substance abuse incidents. The Work Group also recommended regulations for the sharing of incident reports among agencies, and suggested standardized policies and procedures for documenting injuries or hazardous situations.
In October 2011, the Work Group submitted its report to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Governor's Office for Children.
