In June 2022, the Building Energy Transition Implementation Task Force was authorized by the General Assembly (Chapter 38, Acts of 2022).
The Task Force was to study and make recommendations for developing complimentary programs, policies, and incentives to reduce greenhouse emissions from the building sector. It recommended incentives for electrification projects, and developed a plan for funding the retrofit of covered buildings to comply with building emission standards.
On January 24, 2024, the Task Force submitted its final report to the Governor, Senate President, and House Speaker.
