In Oct. 2020, renamed Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (Chapters 272 & 273, Acts of 2020).

Serving the blind and physically handicapped residents of Montgomery County, the Special Needs Library started in 1972. It was closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Under the Maryland State Library for the Blind .and Print Disabled, disbanded by Feb. 2024.
