The Speaker's Advisory Committee on Legislative Redistricting was formed by the House Speaker in May 2001. The Committee met with the House regional and county delegations, seeking their comments, in order to advise the Speaker on redistricting issues. In January 2002, the Committee reported to the House Speaker.
