Born in Nassawadox, Virginia, May 31, 1939. Attended University of Richmond (political science). Retired businessman. Owner and chief executive officer, Shore Disposal, Inc., 1965-98. Board of Directors, Salisbury University Foundation, 1999-10 (treasurer, 2000-02). Member, Salisbury/Wicomico Chamber of Commerce; Princess Anne Chamber of Commerce; Crisfield Chamber of Commerce. Past member, Greater Salisbury Committee; Eastern Shore Homebuilders Association; ABC Contractors Association; National Solid Waste Association. Board of Directors, Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture (vice-chair, 2002-03). Board of Directors, Shore Financial Corp.; Shore Bank, Inc.; Mid-Delmarva Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). Award for Outstanding Legislative Leadership on behalf of Lower Shore elders, MAC, Inc., 2006. Legislative Champion Award for Leadership on behalf of Maryland senior citizens, Maryland Association of Area Agencies on Aging, 2006. John Shaw Award, Maryland Business for Responsive Government, 2006. Married; three children, six grandchildren. Died in Salisbury, Maryland, June 26, 2010.
