Volunteer of the Year/Community Level, Prince George's County Federation of Parks and Recreation Councils, 2001. On October 17, 2019, Ms. Gaines pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of wire fraud. On January 3, 2020, she was sentenced to six months in federal prison for wire fraud. The sentence, to begin February 24, added three years supervised probation, two months home detention, and restitution of $22,565 to be paid.
