Married; two children, one grandchild. Died in Bel Air, Maryland, March 4, 2018.

In May 2018, the plaza on the south side of the Mary E. W. Risteau District Courts and Multi-Service Center in Bel Air, Maryland, was named the H. Wayne Norman, Jr. Memorial Plaza (Chapter 370, Acts of 2018).
