June Court Anno Domini 1747
(93) It was Commanded the sheriff that he Could take James Mudd late of Charles County planter otherwise Called James Mudd of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe Keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next Court to be holden at CHarles Town on the second Tuesday in June Next to satisfy unto John Chesley as well the sum of Sixteen Pounds Sterling a Certain Debt which the same John Chesley [illegible] in the Court of the Lord Propry before the Justices afs.d at Charles County afs.d Recovered against the said James as also four Hundred & Eighty one pounds of Tobacco which to the same John Chesley by Discretion of the Justices of his Assent were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of Detaining that Debt whereof the said James is Convict and that he should have then & there that Writ &Ca And now here at this day to wit the several Tuesday in June the sheriff aforesaid Returns to the Court here the Writt afs.d thus Indorsed Vizt Cepi Satisfied the Plaintiff Mem.o the Plaintiff Releases the penalty on payment of Prin.l Int & S Hanson she Damages It was Commanded the Sheriff that he should take John Marten late of Charles County Planter otherwise Called John Martin Sen of Charles County Planter if &Ca and him safe Keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in June Next to satisfy unto John Chesley as well the sum of sixteen pounds sterling a Certain Debt which the same John Chesley in the Court of the Lord Propry before the Justices aforesaid at Charles County afs.d Recovered against the said John Marten Jun as also four Hundred and Eighty one Pounds of Tobacco which to the same John Chesley by Discretion of the Justices afs.d of his assent were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of Detaining that Debt whereof the s.d John Marten Jun is Convict & that he should have then & there that Writt &Ca And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in June afs.d the sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writt afs.d thus Indorsed Vizt Cepi Corpus Satisfied the Plaintiff Sam Hanson She Mem.o the Plf Releases the Penalty on Payment of Principal Interest and Damages It was Commanded the sheriff that he should take John Marten sen late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in June Next to satisfy unto Thomas Caton as well the sum of Three pounds Eleven shillings & six pence sterling or the Sum of seven pounds three Shillings Curry which to the same Thomas in the Court of the Lord Propry afs.d before the Justices afs.d (were) |
