It was Commanded the sheriff that he should take Charles Craycroft late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next Court to be holden at Charles Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in June Next to satisfie unto Edmund Jennings Esq.r as well the sum of Eleven Pounds fourteen shillings and Three pence sterling which to the said Edmund in the Court of said Lord Proprietary before his Justices afs.d Were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of a Certain Promise & Assumption to the said Edmund by the said Charles at Charles County afs.d made and unperformed as also Three Hundred and fifty Nine pounds of Tobacco which to the same Edmund of his Assent were adjudged for his Costs & Charges by him about his suit in that Part laid out and Expended whereof the said Charles is Convict &C.a & that he should have then and there that Writt &C.a And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in June afs.d the sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writt afs.d I have Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus supersed.d Saml Hanson Sher and with the Writt afs.d he Returns the following superseades Vizt Charles County ss.t You Charles Craycroft Richard Edelen Ignatius Doyne Edward Clements and Benjamin Craycroft do Confes Judgment to Edmund Jennings Esq.r as well for the sum of Eleven pounds fourteen shillings and Three pence Sterling Damage as three Hundred and fifty Nine pounds of Tobacco Costs which sums were Recovered by the said Edmund Jennings against Charles Craycroft on the Twelfth day of March last past for Charles County Court the said Eleven pounds fourteen shillings and Three pence sterling damage and Three Hundred and fifty Nine pounds of Tobacco to be levied of your bodys Goods & Cattles Lands or Tenements for the use of the said Edmund Jennings In Case the said Charles Craycroft shall not Pay and Satisfie to the said Edmund Jennings the said sum of Eleven pounds fourteen Shilings and Three pence sterling and Three Hundred and fifty Nine pounds of Tobacco so as aforesaid (Recovered) |
