64)            March Court Anno Domini 1746

Given for the said John Marten to the said John Chesley in the Premises nor hath he
any other things to say thereof in Barr or Preclusion of the Action aforesaid of him the said
John Chesley whereby the same John Chesley Remains against the said John
Marten thereof undefended
                                                                Therefore it is Considered that the said
John Chesley Recover against the said John Marten his Debt & Costs afs.d and his
Damages by Occasion of Detaining that Debt to Two Hundred and Eighty one
Pounds of Tobacco to the same John Chesley on his assent by the court here adjudged
Deft in Mer   and the said John Marten in Mercy &Ca
                                                            Mem.o the Plaintiff Releases the Penalty on
                                                            Payment of Prin.l Int & Damages

    And Whereupon the same Thomas Morriss and John Delozier by
Jeremiah Chase their Attorney say that whereas the aforesaid Cornelius Sandford
by the Name of Corn.s Sandford of Charles in the province of Maryland Gent.n
on the seventh day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred
forty five at Charles County afs.d by his Certain Writing Obligatory under the
hand and Seale of the said Cornelius bearing date the day and year last Named
Granted himself to be held and firmly bound to the aforesaid Luke Morris his
Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns in the full and Just Sum of seventy
six pounds Pounds four shillings paper money to be paid to said Luke Morriss his
Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns when afterwards he shoud be thereunto
Requested and the said Thomas and John further say that the afs.d Luke Morriss
after the Twenty first day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven
Hundred and forty Two to wit the fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord
One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Six at Charles County afs.d by his
Certain Writing under the hand and Seal of him the said Luke Morris bearing
date the day and year last mentioned according to the form and Effect of the Act of
Assembly in such Cases made and Provided Assigned the said Writing Obligatory
to the said Thomas and John for Value Received as therein mentioned of w.ch said
Assignment the said Thomas and Thomas John afterwards to wit on the said fifteenth
day of August in the year last mentioned at Charles County afs.d to the said Corn.s
gave Notice and the said Thomas and John in fact say that the said Cornelius
altho' often Required the aforesaid sum of Seventy Six pounds four shillings Paper
Currency to the said Thomas and John or to either of them hath not Paid nor any
