(372) March Court Anno Domini 1747 Prays further leave to Imparle hereto until the Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in August and he hath it and the same day is given to the same Margarett here &Ca At which day to wit the second Tuesday in August aforesaid Comes here as well the said Margarett as the said Joseph by their attorneys and the said Joseph by his said attorney Prays further leave to Imparle hereto until the Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in Nov.r and he hath it and the same day is given to the same Margarett here &Ca At which day to wit the second Tuesday in November aforesaid Comes here as well the s.d Margarett as the said Joseph by their attorneys afs.d and the said Joseph by his said Attorney Prays further leave to Imparle hereto until the Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in March and he hath it and the same day is given to the same Margarett here &Ca And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Came here as well the said Margarett as the said Joseph by their attorneys afs.d and the said Joseph by his said attorney Comes and Defends the force & Injury when &Ca Whereupon all and singular the Premises being by the Court here (according to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in such Cases late made and Provided fully seen heard and understood) and due Deliberation thereupon had It is Adjudged & Decreed that the said Margarett Recover against the said Joseph as well the sum of one Hundred Pounds of Tobacco for her Damages afs.d as also the Sum of Pounds of Tobacco for his Costs & Charges by him Def.t in mea about her suit in this part laid out and Expended and the said Joseph in Mercy &C.a
Charles County ss.t Richard Smith late of Charles County Planter was attached to answer unto Thomas Connery of a plea of Trespass upon the Case and so forth And Whereupon the same Thomas by Jeremiah Chase his attorney Complains that whereas the said the said Richard Smith the sixteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and forty five at Charles County made his Certain Promisary Note in Writing and subscribed his hand writing thereto and then and there subscribed Delivered the same to the said Thomas Connery by which he obliged himself to Pay to the said Thomas Connery or his order the full and Just sum of one Thous.d Three Hundred sixty four pounds of Tobacco for Value of him Received by Reason of which and by force of the Statute in that Case made and Provided the said Richard became liable to Pay to the said Thomas the said sum of one Thousand Three Hundred sixty four pound of Tobacco specefied in the said Note and being so Indebted the said Rich.d in Consideration thereof the same day and year abovementioned at the County afs.d undertook assumed & faithfully Promised the said Thomas Connery that he will well and truly Pay him the said sum of one Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty four Pounds of Tob.o ment.d (In) |
