Judgment by Cognovit Actionem
Charles County ss.t   William Baggott late of Charles County Planter was
                         attached to Answer unto Edward Trafford Esq.r of a plea of
                         Trespass upon the Case

    And Whereupon the said Edward by Henry Darnall his Attorney Complains
for that whereas the said William on the fifteenth Day of August In the year of our Lord
One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six at Charles County aforesaid was
Indebted unto the said Edward In the sum of fourteen Hundred and Eleven pounds of Tob.o
for divers particulars lying Properly in Account as by the Particular Account thereof
herewith into Court brought may appear and the said William being so thereof Indebted
In consideration thereof (afterwards (to wit) the day and year aforesaid In the County afs.d
upon himself assumed and to the same Edward then and there faithfully Promised that
he the said William the said sum of fourteen Hundred and Eleven pounds of tobacco to the said
Edward would well and truly Content and pay when thereunto afterwards he should be
Requested  Nevertheless the said William his Promise and Assumption afs.d in form
aforesaid made not in the least Regarding but minding and fraudulently him the said
Edward In this part craftily and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the said William the s.d
sum of fourteen Hundred and Eleven pounds Tobacco or any part thereof to him the said
Edward hath not paid or in any sort Contented altho' so to do the said William was on the
Third day of October In the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six and
often since at Charles County aforesaid by the said Edward Requested but the said William
the said sum of fourteen Hundred and Eleven pounds of Tobacco or any Part thereof to him
the said Edward to pay or in any sort to Content hath hither to altogether Refused &
still doth Refuse to the damage of him the said Edward Two Thousand Eight Hundred &
Twenty Two Pounds of Tobacco and therefore sin he brings suit &C
