(302) March Court Anno Domini 1747 To prove and Perpetuate the Bounds of said Land which Granted your Petition as in Duty Bound will ever pray &Ca March 15.th 1747 Whereupon it was Ordered Commission Issue Returnable here &C.a To Samuel Hawkins, James Huck, Francis Ware an d Samuel Crockett or any Three or Two of them to Examine Evidences touching the bounds of the tract or Parcel of Land agreeable to the Directions of the act of assembly in those Cases late made and Provided A Petition of Sundry the Inhabitants about a Road To the Right Worshipfull his Lordships Justices of the peace for Charles County the Humble Petition of Matthew Barrett most Humbly Sheweth That Whereas there was an Antient Path that Lead from the Petitioners fathers Plantation and now the petitioners into the New Road and the said path being Cleared for Conveniency of going to Church to Court and Balling Tobacco But since the said Path being stopt up by Neighbouring plantations the Petitioner Hath not liberty to Role his Tobacco or go upon his other lawfull occasions towards Portobacco This is therefore the Humble Request of the petitioner that your Worships willing our Goodness grant that the said Path may be Kept open by the Neighbours making Gates Convenient to the said Path there being no other way thereabout so Levell and Convenient as the said Path as their plantations Have Stopt up and your Worships petitioner as in duty bound shall Ever pray Daniel Neale Michael Boswell George Boswell Sam.l Hamilton Widow Hamilton, John Hamilton, James Hamilton, John Bossell Zachariah Neale, William Bossell On Reading of which Petition the following Endorsement was made Read and Viewers appointed Major Samuel Hannon, Mr Samuel Hanson Jun and Mr Samuel Hawkins ^to View the Premises^ and to make their Report William Seisson Returns to the Court here the following Petition & Report thereon Viz.t To the Worshipfull the Justices of Charles County in Court sitting The petition of W.m Seisson most Humbly Sheweth That where as your Petitioner has a Road Runs through his Plantation to the great Prejudices of him and others which if it was turned is but very Little further and will be a much better Road desires that your Worships will be pleased to appoint viewers to view the same and he as in duty bound will Ever pray &Ca Charles County ss.t November Court 1747 Sedente Cura Ordered that Captain Richard Harrison view the premises Lay out the Road & make a Report thereof to Next Court In Pursuance whereof I have this day ordered the Road which led through W.m Seisson's plantation to be altered in the following manner vizt Near the First bound tree of Thomas Hudson's land called Tabitha's lot to turn to the Easterw.d along a valley until it comes to a path formerly a Road then with the said (Path) |
