(189) The Justices of the Court here do appoint the several Persons following Constables of the Respective Hundreds within the County afs.d Portobacco West Side upper Part Ja.s Smallwood Jun.r Ditto Lower Part Henry Barnes Jun.r Ditto East Side & Cha.s Town Hund.d Mark Mcpherson Durham Upper Part Tho.s Hudson Ditto Lower Part John Franklin William & Mary Upper Part John Douglass Ditto Lower Part John Penn Newport upper Part William Dement Ditto Lower Part Robert Gill Ditto East Side Matt.w Compton Benedict Leonard Hundred Rich.d Anderson Same appointed to Suppress the Tumultuous meeting of Negroes Mem.o that the Justices here do order the Several Constable afs.d to Take particular Care to Suppress the Tumultuous meeting of Negroes The Justices here pursuant to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in those Cases late made and Provided do describe the following main Roads and do appoint the Several Persons Pursuers of the same Roads for the Ensuing year according to the Several Precincts and Divisions following Viz.t The Road from the head of Portobacco Creek to Stones Mill the Road which Strikes out of said Road and Leades through Cedar Point Neck to Pissemon Point and the Road from Stones mill into the Neck Road afs.d by John Caraxons and the and the Road that strikes out of Narjimy Road Near the Plantation of John Muschett and Leades by Thomas Mitchells to a Branch Called the Huckleberry Branch & also the Road that strikes out of the Road that Leades from Portobacco to Nanjemy to the Worshipfull Mr Walter Hanson's Walter Maddox |
