(152) August Court Anno Domini 1747 he be guilty of the matter afs.d as by the Information aforesaid against him it is alledged he the said Thomas Steward says that he is in no wise thereof Yet for that he will not Contend with his ^said^ Lordship in this Part Humbly submits himself to the Court Therefore it is Considered that the said Thomas Steward be fined five Pounds Current money for his offence aforesaid by the Court here adjudged and that the said Thomas Steward be taken &Ca Whereupon into Court herein his Proper Person Comes Holland Middleton of Charles County Planter and becomes Pledge and Security for the afs.d Thomas Steward to Pay the fine afs.d as also the several fees arising Due to the officers and ministers of the Court hereby occasion of the Premises Be it Remembered that James Wood together with his main Pernor John Wilder Jun from the force and effect of the Recognizance taken in open Court are acquit and Discharged It is Therefore Considered by the Court here that the said James Wood Recognize in the Sum of Ten pounds Current money with sufficient Security in the Like sum for his the said Woods appearance at the Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in November Next Whereupon into Court here in his Proper Person Comes the afs.d James Wood of Charles County Taylor and Robert Yates of same County Gentleman and acknowledged themselves to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the that is to say the said James Wood In the sum of Ten Pounds Current money and the said Robert Yates in the Like sum which sums they and each of them severally yielded & Granted should and might be Levied on their and each of their Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to and for the use of his said Lordship his Heirs and successors On Condition that the said James Wood do make his Personal appearance before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in November to answer unto what shall be then and there objected against him on behalf of his Lordship the Lord Proprietary of and Concerning his begetting a Bastard Child on the Body of Elizabeth Small and stand to and abide the Judgment of said Court and not to depart without Licence thereof
