316 Whereas there was eighteen pounds paper money Levied in the Publick Levy Last for the use of Sommerset County &a And for as much as it appears to the Court here that the aforesaid eighteen pounds of Right doth belong to Col Levin Gale and Col Robert King And the said Money being produced herein Court by the Sheriffe of the County afd to witt John Handy GEnt And Whereupon the said John Handy is ordered by the Court here to pay unto the aforesaid Col Robert King Two pounds fourteen Shillings Curr.t money maryland Currency part of the aforesaid Eighteen pounds and the Residue of the aforesaid Eighteen pounds to witt fifteen pounds and six shillings the said John Handy is Ordered to pay to Coll Levin Gale &a
Pitts and his wife are designed to Leave this County but are both very Willing to Leave the Children of the deceased and their Estates in Your petitioners hands or Care Your petitioners Therefore Humbly prays Your Worships Will be pleased to make Such Order for the delivery of the said Children and their Estates into Your petitioners possession in Order to keep them Indemnifyed and they as in duty bound shall pray The petition aforesaid being Read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had &.a It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid John Pitts and Ann his wife Lately Called Ann Nelson deliver up unto the afd William More and Thomas Shiles all the Estate of the aforesaid William Nelson dec.d (and the Children of said William) that they the said John Pitts and Ann his wife Lately Called Ann Nelson have in their hands and possession and any ways of Right doth belong unto the Legall Representatives of the said William Nelson dec.d or give them the said William More and Thomas Shiles Counter Security according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided Otherwise attachment or distress upon application will Issue Out of this Court against the Estate afd to possess themselves therewith &a
of which great age the decay of his Eye Sight the Loss of his memory and Other Infirmitys the said Slave is become Useless to your petitioner Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays Your Worships to take the premisses into Consideration and will be pleased to Set the said negro Slave Tax free for the future as Your petitioner will ever pray The petition aforesaid being Read and heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid negro Bussey be for the future Tax free as by the petition aforesaid is praid &a Whereas a Certain Mary Jarvine a molatto woman having Lately had a boy Called Bobo Jarvis born of her body that was begott of her body by a negro and for as much as such Issue becomes Servants to the Use of the County where they are born |
