285 Lord proprietary for his fine by the Court hereupon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses af.d whereof in forme af.d he is Convict thirty shillings Curr.t money of Maryland for and that the said Edmond Knowles Junr be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &c Thereupon the said Edmond Knowles Junr is discharged from the Information af.d he paying the severall officers Fees &c
to witt at Dividing Creek in the same County the fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty two before Robert King Esq.r and his Associates the said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that William Copsey late of Somerset parish in the said County of Somerset planter the thirtieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jur of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain Elizabeth Porter and of her body then and there had Carnall knowledge and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Eizabeth then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Allmighty God to the evill example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the same Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c Whereupon the same Attorney of the said Lord propry for the same Lord proprietary prays advice of the Court herein the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the said William Copsey may be made to answer unto the said Lord proprietary again of and upon the premisses &c Thereupon it is Commanded the sheriffe of SOmerset County that he should take the said William Copsey if &c to answer &c And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek this fifteenth day of June Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty two before the af.d Justices Came the af.d William Copsey in his proper person and had a hearing of the Information af.d and saith that he Cannot deny but that he is guilty of the premisses af.d in the Information af.d specified above upon him Imposed in manner and form as by the Information af.d above against him supposed and the premisses Expressly Acknowledged &c Whereupon all and singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the |
