240 Right honourable the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by accasion of the premisses afd whereof in form afd he is Convict Two Shillings and Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland and that he be Taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af &c and thereupon the said John Lamberson be discharged paying of fees &a It is also Considered that the aforesaid Alexander Maddox pay unto his said Lordship the Right honourable the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses afd whereof in form aforesaid he is Convict Two Shillings and Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said Alexander be taken to Satisfie the said Ldpry of the fine afd &a Whereupon the sid Alexander Maddox is Ordered to give Security for the payment of all Fee or Fees due from the afd Alex.d by means of the premisses afd to any person or persons whatsoever &a Thereupon Came here into Court a Certain Bruffe Broughton In his proper person and undertook for the said Alexander Maddox to pay all fee or fees due to any person or persons whatsoever in Case the said Alexander doth not pay the Same &a
so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Sommerset to be held at deviding Creek the third Tuesday of march Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and forty One to answer unto Stephen Bancks of a plea that he Render unto him the Summ of Eight pounds five Shillings and Six pence which to him he Owes and Unjustly detaines &.a and the same day is given unto the aforesaid Stephen here also &a And the said Stephen declared of the aforesaid William in the plea afd in form Following Sommerset sst William Whartonby Late of Sommerset County Cooper otherwise Called William Whartonby of Sommerset County Cooper was Summoned to answer unto Stephen Banks of a plea that he Render unto him the Sum of Eight pounds five Shillings and Six pence which to him he Owes and unjustly detains &a And Whereupon the same Stephen by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney saith that Whereas the said William the Sixth day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred forty and One at Sommerset County aforesaid by his Certain Bill penall sealed with the seal of the said William and which the said Stephen here Exhibitts hereinto Court the date whereof is the Same day and Year acknowledged himselfe to Owe and be Justly Indebted to the Same Stephen by the name of Stephen Bank planter the Sum of four pounds Two Shillings and nine pence Currant money of Maryland to |
