     Command was given to the sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take Peter Claywell J.r
late of Somerset County planter and Shadrach Claywell late of Somerset County planter if they
should be found in his bailywick and them should safe keep so that he might have their bodys before
the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of March Anno Dom one
thousand seven hundred and forty to answer unto Ambross Willett etuxor and Ruth his wife of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c
and and the same day is given to the af.d Ambross and Ruth here &c

                         Att which day here Came the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife by George Douglas their Attorney and
the sheriffe to witt John Handy Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Peter and Shadrach Claywells body here at
this day he had ready to Answer the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife of the af.d plea as to him it was Commanded

                Whereupon the af.d Peter and Shadrach Claywell puts in their place William Arbuckle Gent Attorney at Law
against the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife of the af.d plea

                   And thereupon at the request of the parties af.d day is to them now here given untill next Court to be held at
dividing Creek in and for the County af.d the third Tuesday of June then next Following in the same state as at present saveing
to the parties af.d &c

                               Att which day here Came again as well the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife as the af.d Peter and
Shadrach Claywells by their Attorneys af.d and hereupon the said Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife Complained of the af.d
Peter and Shadrach Claywells in the plea af.d in form Following   Somerset ss  Peter Claywell J.r late of Somerset County
planter and Shadrach Claywell late of Somerset County planter were attached to answer unto Ambrose Willet and Ruth his
wife of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c

                   And Whereupon the said Ambrose and Ruth by George Douglas their Attorney Complain that whereas the
said Ruth is an honest and peaceable Subject of our Lord the King that now is and as an honest and peaceable Subject of the
said King and his progenitors from her Nativity hitherto her self hath demeaned and behaved free and Clear of any breach of
the peace either of the said King or the Right honourable the Lord propry of this province  Nevertheless the said Peter and
Shadrach not ignorant of the premisses but plotting and malitiously intending the said Ruth of her good name to deprive and
to Cause her to undergoe and Suffer imprisonment of her body and make fine to the said Lord proprietary on the Eighteenth
day of November Anno Dom MDCCXL at the County af.d before the worshipfull Robert King and his Associates the Right
honourable the Lord propry of this provinces Justices the peace for the said County to keep Assigned without any probable
