202 hundred and forty Seven Pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges af.d to the same Robert at his Request by the Court now here of the assent of the parties af.d Adjudged which 325 Certain Damages in the whole amounts to Seven pounds Currt money of maryland and three hundred and forty Seven Pounds of tobacco and the af.d Richard in mercy &.a
to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one to answer unto Ambross Willett and ruth his wife of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c and the same day is given to the af.d Ambross and Ruth here &c Att which day here Came the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife by George Douglas his Attorney and the sheriffe to witt John Handy Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Peter Claywell and Shadrach Claywell whose body here at this day he had ready to Answer the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife of the af.d plea as to him it was Commanded Whereupon the af.d Peter and Shadrach Claywell puts in their place William Arbuckle Gent Attorney at Law against the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife of the af.d plea And thereupon at the request of the parties af.d day is to them now here given untill next Court to be held at dividing Creek in and for the County af.d the third Tuesday of June then next Following in the same state as at present Saveing to the parties af.d &c Att which day here Came again as well the af.d Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife as the af.d Peter and Shadrach Claywell by their Attorneys af.d and hereupon the said Ambross Willett and Ruth his wife Complained of the af.d Peter and Shadrach Claywell in the plea af.d in form Following Somerset ss Peter Claywell Junr late of Somerset County planter and Shadrach Claywell late of Somerset County planter were attached to answer unto Ambross Willet and Ruth his wife of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c And Whereupon the said Ambrose and Ruth by Geo Douglas their Attorney Complain that whereas the said Ruth is an honest and peaceable Subject of our Lord the King that now is and as an honest and peaceable Subject of the said King and his progenitors from her nativity hitherto herself hath demeaned and behaved free and Clear |
