175 Sommerset ss Att a Court of his Lordship the Right Honourable Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c held at dividing Creek in and for the County aforesaid the third Tuesday of November to witt the Seventeenth day of the same month Ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred and forty One by his said Lordships the Lord proprietarys his Justices the peace in the Same County to keep assigned of whom were present
The Court being set as above proceeded to Business in manner following viz Proclamation being made in Usuall form the Sheriffe of Sommerset County to witt John Handy Gentleman now here returned a pannell of Grand Jurors as Follows vizt John Elzey Joseph Dashiell, Henry Schofeild, Benjamin Langford, William Turpin son of W.m Hugh Tingle John Pollock William Mumford William More Thomas Midsley Thomas Pollitt, John Johnson, John Howard George Vinson Joseph Gray and Francis Crowder and Thereupon proclamation being made in Common form &a the Jurors aforesaid so as aforesaid Impannelled and being Severally Called Over by their Names do appear as above and were Sworn and Charged to Inquire and sent Out to Consider &a soon after the Grand Jurors afd being Impannelled Sworn and Charged as aforesaid Return here into Court and being Severally Called Over appear and present to the Court here the Severall Bills of Indictment following to witt Mary Mears Elizabeth Porter, Rachell Freeman Comfort Blake Sabra Drigons John Parks Charles Cade Gammage Evans Michael Reding David Smith John Riggin and Donnock Dennis And Thereupon the Grand Jurors aforesaid are discharged and Order that they be allowed five hundred pounds of tobo for their publick Service this Court to be allowed of in the County Levey and against the afd Mary Mears, Elizabeth Porter Rachel Freeman Comfort Blake Sabra Drigons John Parks Charles Cade Gammage Evans Michael Redding David Smith John Riggin and Donnock Dennis so as aforesaid Indicted It is Ordered that Capias Issue Returnable to March Court then next following &a Upon the motion of Robert Jenckins Henry Gentleman his Lordships attorney It is Ordered by the Court here that the said Robert Jenckins Henry have Liberty to Order Out all Such Subpenas as he should think Necessary to testifie to the Grand Jury this Court against any person or persons whatsoever &a
