                              August Court                               1741                        173

following to answer unto his said Lordship of the presentment afd and doe not Stand and abide the Judgm.t of the Court thereon
and doe depart the Same Court without Leave

                Att which day here Came againe as well the afd Robert Jenckins Henry who &.c as the afd Robert Geddes in his
proper person and hereupon the said Robert Jenckins Henry who &.c offereth to the Court here against the afd Robt Geddes the Information
following      Somerset ss   Be it remembred that Robert Jenckins Henry Gent Attorney of the Right Honrble the Lord
Proprietary that now is who for the same Lord proprietary in this part prosecuteth doth Come here into the County Court of the same
Lord Proprietary held for Somerset County af.d to witt at dividing Creek in the same County the Eighteenth day of August in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred forty and one before Robert King Esq.r and his Associates the Lord proprietary his Justices
of the same County Court and for the same Lord propry doth given the Court here to understand and be Informed that Robert Geddes late of
Coventry parish in the said County of Somerset Inholder the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty
having the Tuition of a certain John Wordy an Orphant under the age of twenty and one years at Somerset County af.d the day and year
last mentioned into a Certain tract of Land belonging to the said Orphant Scituated upon Pocomoak river in the County af.d with force and
arms did Enter and:
                                                 :oak Trees then and there growing he did Cutt down and the same split into Staves and Carry away to the
the value of Twenty shillings Curr.t money of the province of Maryland and in the same Land then and there in manner and form
af.d Wast did Committ against the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case lately made and provided and Contrary to the peace &c  And
Whereupon the same Attorney of the same Lord propry for the same Lord propry prays the Advice of the Court here in the premisses
and that due process of Law in this part against the same Robert Geddes may be made to Answer unto the same Lord propry of and
upon the premisses &c
                                           Whereupon the said Robert Geddes in his proper person Came hereinto Court and had a
hearing of the Information aforesaid and saith that he Cannot deny but that he is guilty of the premisses afd in
the Information aforesaid above against im is Expressed and saith that he Cannot deny but that the aforesaid John Wordy
hath sustained damages by means of the premisses afd to Twenty Shillings Currant money of Maryland and not more &a

       Therefore it is Considered that the aforesaid John Wordy Recover against the afd Robert Geddes Forty
Shillings Currant money of Maryland which is adjudged by the Court here unto the said John Wordy as double damages
according to the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and that the afd Robert be taken &c

       And it is Ordered by the Court here that the said Robert Geddes give Security for the payment of the afd Forty Shillings
Curr.t money of Maryland (which was adjudged unto the said John Wordy as double damages by Occasion of the premisses afd)
when ever the same John Wordy should arrive at full age to receive the same &a

                   Whereupon the said Robert Geddes with James Martin of Somerset County Gent his security both
present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the aforesaid John Wordy in
Eighty Shillings Currant money of Maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles Lands or tenants Tenements Severally
to be made and Levied to the Use of the said John Wordy his heirs and assigns  If it happen that the said Robert
Geddes his heirs Executors or administrators doe not pay or Cause to be paid unto the said John Wordy his heirs or assignes
Forty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland (the double damages afd (when Ever the Same John Wordy or his heirs or assigns should arrive
at full age to Receive the Same &.a  Thereupon the said Robert Geddes is discharged from the Information afd he paying all fees
due thereon &a
