brings Suit &c                                                                                                                                         Plegs D.r J: Doe  R: Roe

       And the af.d Nathaniel Jackson by George Douglas his Attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when &c  and saith
that he Cannot deny the Action af.d of the af.d Robert Allen nor Can he say but that the writing obligatory af.d is the deed of the same
Nathaniel nor Can he say but that he owes the same Robert the af.d twenty pounds Curr.t money of Verginia of the Value of
Forty Five pounds Curr.t money of Maryland in manner and form as the af.d Robert above against him hath declared

                Therefore it is Considered that the af.d Robert Allen recover against the af.d Nathaniel Jackson his debt af.d and
his damages by Occasion of the detention of that Same debt to                                                                     pounds of tobacco
to the Same Robert of his assent by the Court here adjudged and the aforesaid Nathaniel in Mercy &.a  And afterwards to witt the
Eighteenth day of August Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and forty One Came here into Court the afd Nathaniel
Jackson in his proper person and being asked if he were the same person the same Nathaniel against whom the above
Judgment was Recovered acknowledged he was   And Thereupon the same Nathaniel is Committed to the prison of
the Sheriffe of the County afd there to remain untill the afd Robert Allen of the debt and damages aforesaid should be
fully Satisfied the said Sheriffe to witt John Handy Gentleman present here in Court in his proper person took Charge
of the said Nathaniel accordingly &c

    Command was given to the Sheriffe of Sommerset County that he Should Take George Russell Late
of Sommerset County Merchant if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that
he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing
Creek the third Tuesday of August Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty to Answer unto Francis Tate of a plea of
trespass upon the Case &c  And the same day is given to the af.d Francis here &c

                      Att which day here Came the af.d Francis Tate by Francis Allen his Attorney and the sheriffe to witt John Handy
Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d George Russell whose body here at this day he had ready to Answer the af.d Francis
Tate of the af.d plea as to him it was Commanded

               Whereupon Came here into Court the aforesaid George Russell in his proper person and thereupon the said George
at the prayer of the aforesaid Francis Tate is adjudged to give Special bail to the action aforsesaid but for want thereof the
said George Russell is Committed into the Custody of the Sheriffe of the Custody aforesaid there to remain &.a untill next Court to be held
at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of November then next following and the Same day is given to the afd Francis here &c

                         Att which day here Came againe as well the afd Francis Tate by his attorney afd as the afd George Russell in his
proper person in Custody as afd  And hereupon the said Francis Complained of the afd George in Custody as aforesaid in
manner following      Sommerset County ss  George Russell Late of Somerset County Merchant was attached to answer unto
Francis Tate of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c

                               And whereupon the said Francis Tate by Francis Allen his Attorney Complains that whereas the
said George the Sevent^eenth^ day of January Anno Dom seventeen hundred and thirty nine at Somerset County af.d within the Jur
of this Court was Indebted unto the said Francis Tate in thirty one pounds Five shillings and three pence Curr.t money of
