                      Sommerset County ss
                                                                               Att a Court of his Lordship the Right Honourable Charles absolute Lord
and proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &a held at dividing Creek in and
for the County of Somerset the third Tuesday of August to witt Eighteenth day of the same month Anno Dom One thousand
seven hundred and forty One by the said Lord Proprietary his Justices the peace in the same County to keep assigned of whom
were present

          The Court being sat as above proceeded to the Execution of their Commission in form following vizt


James Smith

          To the Worshipfull the Justices of said County in Court now sitting the humble petition of
James Smith Sen.r of Stepney parish in said County most Humbly Sheweth That your petitioner is above
Sixty years of age and hath been for Some years past Very much afflicted with Sickness and other Ailments which renders him
Uncapable of Labouring your petitioner therefore prays your worships would take his Condition into your Consideration and
discharge him from paying of any Levies for the future and your petitioner as in duty bound shall Ever pray      James Smith Senr

                   The petition aforesaid being Read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had  It is
Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid Andrew Smith be for the future Tax free as by the petition aforesaid is praid and
that he be allowed One pound of tobacco p year &a


William McClemmey
         petn
          To the Worshipfull Justices of Somerset county in Court now sitting the petition of William McClemmey
Humbly Sheweth That the main Road that Leadeth down manokin River Goeth Along the side of your
petitioners Cleared Ground which is Very prejudicial to him there being a body of High Land without the Road which your
petitioner hath Occasion to use your petitioner therefore prays your Worships wold grant an order to turn the said Road which road
if turned will be Considerable nearer then the old Road now is as I Can Shew your worships and your petitioner as in duty bound shall pray

                The petition aforesaid being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had  It is
Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid William McClemmey have Liberty of Removing or Turning of the Road
from the month of the Lane of William Jones at Goose Creek to the mouth of George Horners Lane and further it is Considered
and Ordered that the said new Road be made good and passable as the Old Road and that the Old Road bay Open
untill the said new Road be made good agreeable to the approbation of Capt Henry Ballard and Capt Robert Jones
