67 June ye 7.th 1736 James Taylor of Accomacke County in the Colony of Vergenia aged Seventy Seven Years or there abouts being Sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth and Saith that about Sixty odd years ago Jenckins Prices his then dwelling house stood upon Spenix point on the Westermost side of Pocomoke river near the mouth of the said River within about quarter of a mile from the Extent of the said point and about one hundred Yards from the river side and further saith not The above depositions was taken before us the Subscribers being first duely qualified according to Law the day and year above written William Lane John Henry
all of Somerset County Gen.t Greeting know ye that we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine evidences on behalf of a Certain Abraham Cordery of the County af.d in Relation to the Ennds of a tract of Land Called Longacre we therefore Require you or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall seem Convenient you meet on the af.d Land Called Longacre (you first having taken your oaths on the holy evangelist of almighty God according to Act of assembly in such case made and provided and there Cause to come before you or any three or two of you all such evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainent or def.t if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the holy evangelist of almighty God in the presents of the Complainent or def.t if any touching the truth or Remembrances of their knowledge or anything that may Relate to the cause af.d and that Reducing the severall depositions into writing you send the same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed wittness Rob.t King Gen.t Chief Justice of our said Court the twentyeth day of Aug.t Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty six Afterwards to witt the twenty first day of June Anno Dom one thousand |
