3 March then next to answer ^unto^ his Lordship of and Concerning her Committing of fornication &c and that thereof he should not fail &c And afterwards the said third Tuesday of March to witt the fifteenth day of the same month Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held in the Court house at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said Kate in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment af.d and being Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herself of the premisses af.d says that of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed she is Guilty thereof &.c Whereupon all and singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Malatto Kate return to her Master William Colebourn Service and that at the Expiration of her ^now^ Service he return her to the County Court of Somerset or Sheriffe of the County to reembust to the said County what to [illegible] paid by to the Severall Officers for their Fees due by means of the premisses afd Child [illegible]
parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of the Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permitt the same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a basterd Child on the body of her the same Mary to the high displeasure of almighty God to the evil evil Example of all others in our [illegible] offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and [illegible] and against the form of the Act of assembly in such case lately made and provided &c Test Wheatly Dennis [illegible] bill of Indictment it was endorsed viz.t a true Bill p William Jones [illegible] Thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he [illegible] said Mary Walker if she should be found in his bailywick and her should [illegible] he might have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court [illegible] in the Court house at dividing Creek in the same County the third tuesday [illegible] answer unto his Lordships of and Concerning her Committing of fornication [illegible] she should not fail &c And |
