his L.d ships Justices of the peace for the s.d Co.ty (to keep) with his Security John Prise and did acknowledge
themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his said L.d ship Each in the sum of fifty
Shillings Sterll due to be Levied on their Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenaments for the use
of his s.d L.d ship if he faile in the Condition hereafter Mentioned

The Condition of the above Recognizance is such that if the above Named Samuel Johnson
doe be of the peace and Good behaviour to all his Majesties Subjects of this County and Especially
to Joseph Piper of the said County and make his personall Appearance before the Justices of our
said Co.ty Court to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of this Instant June and stand and
abide the Judgment of the said Court then this Recognizance to be void else to remain in full force
and virtue in the Law
                                                    Whereupon the aforesaid Samuel Johnson in his Own proper person
Came hereinto Court and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he and his Security accordingly
discharged   thereupon the said Samuel Johnsons appearance is recorded and he and his security
accordingly discharged &a

Somerset County ss.t  Mem.r That this day to witt the fifth day of June 1738
Came Elgate Hitch before me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of
the peace for Somerset County (to keep) and did acknowledge himselfe to be
Indebted unto his said Lordship in the sum of five pounds Sterling due to be levied on his goods
and Chattles lands and tenaments for the use of his said Lordship if he faile in the Condition thereafter
mentioned                  The Condition of the above Recognizance is such that if Joseph
Piper doe be of the peace and Good behaviour to all his Majesties Subjects of this County and
Especially to Samuel Johnson of the said County and make his personall appearance Before
the Justices of our said County Court to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of this Instant
June and stand and abide the Judgment of the said Court then this Recognizance to be void
Else to Remain in full force and Vertue in the Law      Whereupon the said Joseph Piper Came
hereinto Court in his proper person and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he and
his Security discharged      Thereupon the Said Joseph Pipers appearance is recorded and he
and his Security accordingly discharged &a   Whereupon the said Joseph Piper is ordered
to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due upon the Recognizance
afd   Thereupon a Certain Samuel Johnson of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his
proper person undertook for the Same Joseph Piper for the payment of the Severall
Officers Fees due upon the Recognizance afd In case the said Joseph Piper do not pay
the Same &a
