211 any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or ^any^ three or two of you shall seem Convenient you meet you meet on the af.d ^Land^ Called Careys adventure and washford (you first having taken your oaths on the holy evangelist of almighty God according to act of assembly in such case made and provided) and there cause to come before you or any three or two of you all such evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainent or defendant if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two administered on the holy evangelist of almighty God in the presence of the complainent or deft if any touching the truth or remembrance of their knowledge or any thing that may relate to the Cause af.d and that reducing the severall depositions into writing you send the same together with this our Commission under you or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed Wittness ^Robert King^ Gent Chief Justice of our said Court the twenty fourth day of November in the twenty third Year of our Dominion &a Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven Be it remembred that on the 24.th day of february 1737 Came Thomas Gilliss one of the within Commissioners and was duely Qualified according to Law before Likewise Came Henry Ballard one of the Commissioners {Henry Ballard within mentioned the same day and was duely Qualified before Tho.s Gilliss Somerset County sst Whereas the Justices of Somerset County by their Commission to us the subscribers directed bearing date November 24.th 1737 Impowering us to examine evidences In relation to the boundreys of two tracts of Land the one called Carys adventure and the other Washford belonging to Thomas Carey and In Compliance to the said Commission we put up our notes accord to the direcition of the act of assembly In that case maid and provided twenty days before the say of march meeting which was the 18.th day of march 1737 and according to appointment we meet on the said Land but no evidence appeared we therefore adjourned untill the 20.th day of the same month at which time we mett on the said Land and there appeared M.r Thomas Dashiell Henry Dorman Mathew Dorman Jacob Crouch and d David Crouch and declaired on their Corporall oaths as in is below mentioned before us Henry Ballard (+) Thos Gilliss (+) |
