197 Estate personall of the afd Nicholas Roe dec.d that she hath in her hands or possession or give the said Thomas Roe good and Sufficient Security to Save and keep him Endemnified by means of the Male administration afd as by the petition afd is Set forth &a
Cap.t John McClester in whose Custody they now are does not use them well or take Care of their Education your petitioner therefore humbly prays your worships will please to enquire into the Afair and doe with said Children what is agreeable to Law and Justice and your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should Sommons the abovesaid John Macclester if he should be found in his Bailywick that all Excuses set apart he might be and appear before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty seven to answer the petition afd &.a Att which day here Came the afd Sheriffe and made return that he had Sommoned the afd John MccClester as aforesaid he was Commanded and afterwards in the same Court before the Justices thereof Came the said John MccClester in his proper person and the petition afd ^being^ read and heard and fully understood and Likewise having heard the Allegations of the said John Macclester and Enquired into the premisses afd and having throughly Considered the Same It seemeth to the Same Court here that the said John MccClester doth not Educate and bring up Adam Carlile and John Carlile orphans and Children of Alexander Carlile Late of Somerset County dec.d according to their Estates &a Whereupon Levin Gale Esq.r of the County afd is by the Court here appointed as Guardian unto the afd Adam Carlile and John Carlile (orphans and Children of the afd Alexander Carlile dec.d) who are now under the age of fourteen years Each untill they arive |
