is ordered by the Court here to give good Security to Save and keep Endemnified the Justices of
Somerset County and their Successors from all Costs Charges and Burthens that might accrew by
means of the birth of the Child afd &a
                                                                            Thereupon a Certain John Farlo Late of Somerset
County black smith and Robert Givan Late of the Same County Gent both present herein Court
in their proper persons undertook for the Same Margarett Caldwell and acknowledged themselves
Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in forty pounds Sterling Each of their
goods and Chattles Lands and tenements to the use of the Justices of Somerset County Court
and their successors to be made and Levied  If it happen that the said Margarett Caldwell
her heirs Executors and administrators or any of them do and shall not from time to time
and at all times hereafter acquitt and save harmless as well the Justices of the County afd
and their successors for the time being as also the Inhabitants of the said County of and
from all Costs Charges troubles and Incumbrances whatsoever for or by reason of the birth
maintainance nourishing and bringing up of the afd Child and of and from all other suites
Charges troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the same &a

Likewise the said Margarett Caldwell is ordered to give Security for the payment of the severall
Officers their fees due on the Indictm.t afd   Thereupon the said John Farlo and Robert Givan
both present here in Court as afd acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the Severall officers
in the County afd that hath a right to any fee or fees on the Indictment afd in five hundred
pounds of tobacco Each of their bodys goods or Chattles Lands or tenements Severally
to be made and Levied &.a   In Case the said Margarett Caldwell her heirs Executors or
administrators do not pay and Satisfie unto the Severall Officers in the County afd
their Just and rightfull fee or fees in the Indictment afd &a

their oath do present that Benj.a Melson late of Stepney parish in the
County af.d planter the tenth day of march Anno Dom seventeen hundred thirty and six
at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit
fornication with a certain Mary Gloster and of her body then and there had carnal knowledge
and a basterd child on the body of her the same Mary then and there did beget to the
