124 afd plea as afd he was Commanded And hereupon the said William Goldsborough who for his said Lordship in this part prosecuteth declared against the afd Charles Dickerson in the plea afd in form following Somerset County ss.t Charles Dickerson late of Somerset County planter otherwise Called Charles Dickerson late of the County af.d was summoned to answer unto the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is of the province of Maryland of a plea that he render unto the said Lord proprietary the sum of ten pounds sterling which unto the same Lord proprietary he oweth and unjustly detaineth &c And Whereupon William Goldsborough Gen.t attorney of the said Lord proprietary who for the same Lord proprietary in this part prosecuteth saith that whereas the af.d Charles the fourteenth day of October Anno Dom seventeen hundred thirty and six at Somerset County af.d personally appeared before John Scott Gen.t one of the said Lord proprietarys his Justices to conserve the peace in the County af.d assigned and did acknowledge himself to owe unto the said Right Honourable the Lord proprietary the af.d sum of ten pounds sterling to be paid to the said Lord proprietary when thereof afterwards he the said Charles should be required Nevertheless the af.d Charles altho' often required the af.d sum of ten pounds sterling to the said Lord proprietary yet hath not rend^e^red but the same to him to render hath refused and still doth refuse to the damage of the same Lord proprietary twenty pounds sterling and thereof the same attorney of the said Lord proprietary for the same Lord proprietary brings this suit &.c Pledges &.c Jno Doe & R Roe ^Bail paid should be entered here^ And the aforesaid Charles Dickerson by William Beckingham his attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when &.c and prayeth Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill the third Tuesday of June then next following and the same day is given to the afd William Goldsborough who for his said Lordship in this part prosecuteth here also &c Att which day here Came againe as well the afd William Goldsborough who for his said Lordship in this behalfe prosecuteth as the afd Charles Dickerson by his attorney afd And whereupon the same Charles Dickerson prayeth further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill the third Tuesday of August then next following and he hath it & the same day is given to the afd William Goldsborough who for his said Lordship in this part prosecuther here also &c Att which day here Came againe the said William Goldsborough who for his said Lordship in this part prosecuteth and prays that the afd Charles Dickerson to the declaration afd may answer but |
