100 Whereupon the said Richard Nichols with John Richardson of Somerset County planter his security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the sum of forty pounds Sterling Each good and Lawfull money of England of their Severall goods and Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of the Justices of Somerset County made and Levied If it happen that the said Richard Nichols his heirs Executors and administrators or any of them do and Shall not from time to time and at all times hereafter acquit and Save harmless as well the Justices of the County afd and their successors for the time being as also the Inhabitants of the said County of and from all Costs Charges troubles and Incumbrances whatsoever for or by reason of the birth maintainance nourishing and bringing up the afd Child Lately begott on the body of the afd Eliz.a Ellingsworth and of and from all other Suits Charges troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the Same &c Likewise the said Richard Nichols is Ordered to give Security for payment of the Severall Officers Fees due on the Indictmt afd Whereupon the said Richard Nichols with John Richardson his Security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted in One thousand pounds of tobacco to be Levied &.c In Case the Said Richard Nichols do not pay unto the Severall Officers their Just fees on the Indictmt afd &c
thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six before Robert King Gent and others his associates Justices of his the said Lord proprietary the peace in the Same County to conserve and also divers felonys trespasses and other Malfesances in the Same County Committed to hear and determine assigned by the Oath of William Jones and twelve Oaths being presented that a Certain Cornelius Dickerson and Charles Dickerson for assaulting of a Certain Jos.a Merrell Constable and his assistance in his Office all of Coventry parish at the house of the afd Cornelius Dickerson &c Upon which it was Commanded the Sheriffe of Somerset |
