to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (negro Stephen who is now about 21 Years of age 5 f.t 6 in & an ½ high of a black Complexion has One scar on outer edge of his left hand and near or partly on or near the wrist has ^&^ and other scar in his forehead has lost one of his upper teeth) is the identical person manumitted and set free by M.rs Lydia Kemp of widow of Ja.s Kemp of the County afs.d In Testimony &.a this 27.th of sep.r 1814 JLoockerman clk Maryland Talbot County to wit I hereby Certify that M.r W.m Moore of the Coty & State afs.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (a Black man named Edward who is now about 33 y.rs of age 5 f 7¾ in high has a large scar partly on his left cheek bone & a little below his temple) was mantt.d & set free in said Coty In Testimony whereof &.c this (Seal) 22.d of Aug.t 1815 JLoockerman Clk |
