    State of Maryland Talbot County to wit
                I hereby Certify that Miss Sarah Work
of said County and State came and proved to
my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a
black Woman who calls herself Patty Steel
and who is now about twenty Eight years
of age four feet Eleven inches high
one large scar of the left side of her
breast dark complection is the identical
person named in a manumission
from Hugh Work to be free on the first
day of January Eighteen Hundred and
that the said Patty Steel was raised in
the County & State aforesaid where the
manumission was duly enrolled among
the Land records of said County
                   In Testimony whereof I have
(Seal)          hereunto set my hand & affixed
                the seal of my Office this
                twenty first day of April A D
                Eighteen hundred and Ten
                            Jacob Loockerman Cl
                            Talbot COunty Court


State of Maryland Talbot County to wit
                      I hereby Certify that Samuel Troth
of the County and State aforesaid came and proved
to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black
man who Calls himself Perth Simpson and
who is now about fifty three years of age five
feet Six inches and three quarters of an inch
high   one large scar about two inches above
