State of Maryland
Talbot County to wit
 I hereby certify that M.r Arthur Rigby
of the County and State afs.d came and
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mullatto
Woman named Esther alias Esther Haskins who is about
25 years of age 5 feet 2 inch & 5/8 of an inch high has a large
scar on her right arm occasioned by a scald has is the identical
person manumitted by Philip Rigby on the 12.th day of Jn
1789 which said manumission was was duly attested acknowledged
& enrolled in Liber B S N.o A one of the
Land record books for the County afs.d
                          In Testimony &c this 28.th of Oct 1812
Negro Esther proved that she lost the above
certificate and another was granted her on      JL   Clk
the 9.th day of May 1815





            
             The State of Maryland
             Talbot County to wit
 I hereby Certify
that M.r Samuel
             Buckley of the County & State afs.d came
             & proved to my satisfaction that the
             Barer hereof a Blk man who
             calls himself James Smith and who
             is now about 26 years of age 5 feet
             10½ in high has lost two of the fore teeth
             of his upper jaw & two bur other fore teeth
             from his under jaw) was born free &
             raised in the County & State afs.d

                           10.th day of Aug.t 1815
