State of Maryland Talbot County to wit
                      I hereby certify all persons whom it doth
       or may concern that W.m Troth of Talbot County
       came and proved to my satisfaction that
       the bearer hereof James alias James Goldsborough
       aged about three and twenty years 5 feet 5
       inches high of a very dark brown colour
       large eyes and thick lips with a scar on the
       top of his right foot was free born and raised
       in the county aforsaid     In Testimony &.c this
                                  4.th day of Aug.t 1810

Maryland Talbot County To wit:  I hereby certify
    that Miss Elizabeth Hall of the County & state afsd
    came and proved to my satisfaction that the
    bearer hereof a black man who calls himself
    Daniel Johns and who is now about thirty nine
    years of age five feet eight inches and an half
    high a small scar on the back of his right
    hand  also another small scar under his
    Chin   dark complexion is the identical
    Negro Man named in a man (made by
    Alex.a McCallun of the County & State afd)
    to free in Jany 1797 which said Man
    is duly executed and recorded among the
    Land records of Talbot County afd
    where the said Dan Johns was
    raised      In Testimony &c this 7th Feby 1811
