111 State of Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that Sam.l Troth of the County & state afd came and proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a black man who calls himself Preston Scott and who is now about forty years of age five feet six inches and an half high his little finger of the left hand very crooked occasioned by a cut the scar of which still remains on the second joint of his said finger a small scar on his upper lip thin visage and dark complexion is the identical person named in a Manumission made by M.rs Rachel Goldsborough (bearing date the 2.d of Jan.y 1804) to be free from the date thereof which said man was recorded among the land records of the county & state afd where the said Preston Scott was raised In Testimony &c this 24th Sep 1810 JLoockerman Cl State of M.d Talbot County to wit I hereby certify that M.r R.d Harrington of the County & State afs.d came & proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof (negro Lydia otherwise called Lydia Mitchel who is now about 38 years of age 5 feet 2½ in high of a yellow complexion has one scar on the middle finger of her right hand & near the nail one other scar in her right eye brow) is the identical person man & set free by Mary Harrison of the Coty & state afs.d on the 20 Ins.t which man was duly Executed acknowledged & enrolled amongst the land records of the Coty afs.d wher (seal) In Testimony &.c this 21.st March 1815 JLoockerman Clk of Tal Coty Court |
