                            Negro Jonathan

Maryland Harford County Ss
                         I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Negro
Jonathan Howard a black man aged twenty one years
about five feet six and a half Inches high has a scar on
the left cheek occasioned by the cut of a knife and a
scar on the back of the right hand occasioned by
a large nail became free in virtue of a Deed of
Manumission duly Executed by Benjamin Howard
and recorded among the Land record Books of
Harford County Court the fourteenth day of January
Seventeen hundred and seventy four
                      In Testimony whereof I have hereto
                      Subscribed my name and affixed
                      the seal of Harford County Court
                      this twenty second day of November
                      Eighteen hundred and thirty

Maryland Harford County
                      I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof
Negro Henry a mullatto man aged twenty five years
about five feet ten inches high has lost the first joint
of the little finger on the left hand has a scarr on
the left cheek and a scarr nearly under the right
Eye became free in virtue of a Deed of Manumission
duly Executed by Bernard Preston on the 27.th day of
October 1782 and recorded on the 19.th day of Febr.y
1783 among the land records of Harford County
Court                   In Testimony whereof I have hereto
                            subscribed my name and affixed
                            the seal of Harford County Court
                            this 11.th day of Dec.r 1830
