                    Negro Clare                           (39

State of Maryland  Harford County to wit
             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Negro Clare five
feet seven inches high about thirty nine years of age of a black
complexion pleasant countenance short nose has several
scars upon each of her arms has one scar upon her middle
finger another on the finger next to the little finger of the left
hand her small finger on the right hand is crooked
having been broken has a scar on her left leg about four
inches below the knee and has several marks or scars on the
back of her neck and between her shoulders she became
free on the Eleventh day of August in the year Eighteen
hundred and ten in virtue of a deed of manumission made
by Elizabeth Maxwell Day of the County aforesaid and
duly executed and recorded and was raised in the County
aforesaid      In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and affixed the seal of my office this twenty third day
of July Eighteen hundred and Eleven

The said negro Clare produced her mannm
at the time the pass was granted and
negro Abigail who was present at same time
identified negro Clare


                         Negro Fanny

State of Maryland  Harford County to wit
             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof negro Fanny
five feet one inch high of a black complexion ^about thirty years of age^ was born free
the said Negro Fanny has several scars on her ^right and^ left arm
also has several scars upon her right arm has a mole
underneath ^near^ her chin ^on the left side^ short thick nose very large kips
^square made^ and was raised in the County aforesaid   In testimony whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office
this twenty sixth day of July Eighteen hundred and Eleven
