                            Negro Tower

State of Maryland  Harford County to wit
                         I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof
negro Tower five feet nine inches high of a black complexion
^about fifty years of age^ became free on the fifteenth day of September seventeen
hundred and eighty one by virtue of a deed of
manumission made by James Rigbie and nathan
Rigbie of said County and duly executed and recorded
The said negro Tower was raised in the County
aforesaid & has a scar below the left eye and another
on the left leg

my office this fourth day of July in

                         Negro Esther

State of Maryland   Harford County to wit
                      I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof
Negro Esther five feet three inches high of a very
black complexion became free on the about sixty four
years of age became free on the thirteenth day of
December seventeen hundred and ninety four by virtue
of a deed of manumission made by George Hill of
said County and duly executed and recorded
    The said negro Esther has a scar on the right side
of her head and is very [illegible] large
       In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand
and affixed the seal of my office this fourth day
of July Eighteen hundred and seven
